Foxy mounted the first legal 'gator harvested in the state of Florida in 1988.  The first hunt, in the first season, at the exact stroke of his watch's second hand, signaling the start of the hunt hours ~  the client took a 5 footer at the boat ramp on Lake Okeechobee.  On the advice of the local game warden the hunter drove 250 miles one way to have Foxy mount this milestone trophy.  He wanted to make sure it was mounted by someone that knew what he was doing.  Prior to being able to import Nile crocodiles from Africa, Foxy made casts in Africa to reproduce  the shoulder mounted crocodiles.  Foxy has always mounted alligators and crocodiles with the most realism possible and strived to perfect his technique in modern crocodilian Taxidermy.

European skull mounts:

European mounts for alligators skulls can be done table style or wall style with the mouth open or closed.  The skull is cleaned and bleached to an ivory bone color, buffed to a nice sheen with all the teeth glued in place.  European alligator mounts are a great way to show the trophy ‘gator which also allows the skin to be used for leather products.

Head mounts:

When Foxy first started mounting alligators for sportsmen, the standard head mount was a simple affair.  Just the basic head without any realism, no tongue, lower jaw skin or horn-back ~ just a felt covering.  Foxy’s head mounts are something special with complete detail ~ reproduced lower jaw skin, horn-back, and a detailed tongue. Turn the head in any direction and you will see "alligator."

Shoulder Mounts:

One of the first to do alligator shoulder mounts, Foxy's Taxidermy's shoulder mounts can hang on the wall as any shoulder mount does and this shows off the open mouth and jowls of the big bull 'gator!!

Alligator Rugs

Foxy's Taxidermy lead the way in making alligator rugs as a 3 dimensional mount.  Due to the stiff nature of the back skin or "horn-back," Foxy developed a technique of mounting the ‘gator skin to a wooden foundation and using a mannequin in the neck, body and the tail and this causes a natural, lifelike shape to be achieved to the "rug."  This also creates a 3-D affect and a different look as opposed to a flat skin.  The wooden base can have decorative wood showing, it can be trimmed off even with the edge of the skin, or a felt border can be added similar to a bear skin rug.

Full-body alligator mounts

Full body alligator mounts can be displayed in many natural poses. The mouth can be open or closed depending on the pose and clients wishes. Some of the most natural positions are walking, swimming, sliding into the water, sunning, or in an aggressive manner "attacking.”  Full body mounts incorporate a habitat diorama included in the price. Novelty poses can also be done such as standing up on two feet, holding a beer can, passing a foot ball, etc.  Foxy has done alligators for the tourist business ~ either as one to hold for photographs or standing up on the hind legs, one arm out so the tourist could get their picture taken with the 'gators arm around their shoulder. Foxy just did one as a waterproof display for an alligator tour boat.

Half mount alligators

A half mount is a favorite way to show the trophy "gator without the cost or space requirement needed for a full body mount. The half mount can be displayed either as a floor mount or as a hanging wall mount. A typical half mount is in the aggressive pose with the mouth open and "attacking." A half mount might also incorporate a diorama base depending on the pose. Foxy's Taxidermy was  a pioneer in the half mount style.
